About ICC

ICC was founded in 1993 by David Gotts after he saw first-hand the suffering of Chinese children with disabilities, who had been abandoned and left without hope in desperate conditions. In the beginning, ICC sent Short-Term Teams to China to provide care in government welfare centres. Later, we established permanent locations which provide full-time family-style care for children in Changsha and Hengyang in Hunan Province. In recent years, ICC has expanded our work to help families who are struggling to care for a child with a disability.

Today, ICC has offices in Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. If you want to know more about ICC, please visit our website.

Join the Global Movement to Give Life and End Abandonment

Walk the Wall is a global movement that brings people together each year to raise money for the most vulnerable children in China.  Funds from the Walk provide care and services to children with disabilities whether they are in ICC’s care or living with their families.

Since 2007, supporters around the world have walked thousands of kilometres, figuratively covering the Great Wall of China’s 21,196 km many times over.  When you ask family and friends to donate or walk with you, each dollar you raise will help children and young adults in China overcome the many challenges they face.
